Building a Healthy Relationship with Money

During the past year I began to look closely at my current financial situation and my relationship to money. Never before had I actually wanted to take time to evaluate my thoughts about money, how I spoke about it and how it made me feel on a physical level. Then it occurred to me that I couldn’t develop a better relationship with money if I didn’t understand my current relationship to it.

I began to cultivate awareness of what I was thinking about money and began to question whether these thoughts were aligned with what I believe to be true. My truth is that we live in an abundant universe; we are all energy and connected to all that is. I believe our thoughts are a vibration and that what we believe matters.

I began to see how I was oppressing myself because of the way I was speaking about money. I realized I would need to overcome all my limiting beliefs, such as the belief that money was the root of all evil. I believed that money was evil; therefore, it followed that at some level I didn’t want money in my life.  I also believed that as quickly as money came, it went.  Down the rabbit hole I went evaluating more and more of my beliefs about money.  Always conscious of how I was speaking.

The more I interacted with money on a conscious level, the more I realized how some of my beliefs and the ways I spoke about money no longer served me.

Along with these thoughts and this vocabulary came the feelings I experienced when I had to deal with money. For example, when it was time to pay the rent, I wasn’t grateful that I could pay. Instead I felt fear in the pit of my stomach. As my awareness grew, I realized I could let go of that fear.

The more I interacted with money on a conscious level, the more I realized how some of my beliefs and the ways I spoke about money no longer served me. I began to see money as more than a piece of paper or a number. I began to see it as an ever-present energy that circulates out and back.

The more I evaluated, the better my relationship with money became. I let go of fear and worry. I gained confidence and a better flow of money. I am currently making more money than when I began this process. I will continue to evaluate my relationship to money until I achieve my ultimate goal of complete financial freedom. Inspired by what I've learned so far, I started a Snapchat (WonderLee123) dedicated to the manifestation of financial freedom and the journey it takes to get there.
